Child Development Centre marks 40 years with Open House on Sept. 15
Community invited to attend Open House from 5 to 7 p.m.
The Smiths Falls Child Development Centre (CDC) wants the community to be part of its 40th anniversary celebrations.
With that in mind, the CDC is hosting an Open House at the early learning centre located at 73 Thurber St. on Thursday, Sept. 15 from 5 to 7 p.m.
A barbecue and birthday cake will be served up as part of the evening’s festivities, and Caring Clowns Connections will be on site to entertain the children. Likewise, there will be an opportunity to take a look back over the past four decades of the CDC through a photo display and video.
“We are just encouraging the families of children currently at the centre to come, as well as people who have never been here to come and take a look at the centre and people who have been here in the past to please come back,” says CDC supervisor Beverly Leach in issuing an open invitation to the community to attend the Open House.
Originally opening its doors on Aug. 2, 1971, the CDC is a municipally licensed child care centre operated by the Town of Smiths Falls. Its programming includes non-profit early learning based day care, school age programs and summer camp. All staff who work with the children hold Early Childhood Educator degrees.
“We are pretty proud of the Centre being 40 years old,” Leach says. “We definitely believe we offer a quality service to the families of Smiths Falls.”
Further information on the Open House can be obtained by contacting Leach at 613-283-4124, ext. 6601 or emailing her at email@example.com.
