A municipally licensed child care centre operated by the Sensational Town of Smiths Falls, the Child Development Centre (CDC) provides a centre based program to serve our community and surrounding area.
We have celebrated our 40th anniversary in August 2011, the CDC’s programming consists of non-profit day care, school age programs and summer camp.
We are licensed by the Ministry of Education and are inspected by the Ministry of Health.
Qualified Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) on staff means we are trained to work with children ages 18 months to 12 years. We also have training to work with a variety of special needs and are registered with the College of ECE.
Snacks and hot meals are prepared fresh every day following the guidelines of the Canada Food Guide.

Hours of operation: 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Application process: Registration is required.
Fees: Payable by cash or cheque. Fee assistance from the county is available for eligible applicants.
Before and After School Programs are offered by the CDC at the following schools for children ages six to 12 from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m.
Licensed capacity: Chimo, 15; St. Francis, 15 and St. James, 30.
