Gerry Lowe Outdoor Rink open for use, with some restrictions

The Town of Smiths Falls is pleased to announce the Gerry Lowe Outdoor Rink is now open for use, with some restrictions. The outdoor rink will be open for use from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., daily.

Use of the outdoor rink is restricted to public skating only, and skaters must skate in the same direction. Nets, sticks, pucks, and balls are not permitted. Team sports or games are also not permitted.

Please note face masks are mandatory for both on and off the ice, and patrons must maintain physical distancing of two metres between themselves and those outside their household. The use of helmets and other protective equipment is recommended.

The outdoor rink will be monitored by police, by-law and staff for the Town of Smiths Falls and users are expected to comply with all restrictions for use.

In addition, users are requested to stay off the ice when the ice is wet or similarly unsuited for skating. The rink can be affected by inclement or warm weather and may not be available for use if weather conditions change.

The Town thanks all users for adhering to public health guidelines and for their contribution in keeping the community safe from COVID-19.
