The Town of Smiths Falls road crews are working extra shifts to clear the municipality’s roads of snow accumulation experienced from the heavy snow storm which began early yesterday.    In total, approximately 35 cm of snow fell locally within the last 24 hours accounting for one of the most significant weather events this winter.

Additional plowing and snow removal activities will be commencing overnight when the roads are cleared of parked vehicles.    A second shift of snow removals will be scheduled Thursday night and into Friday morning.  All snow removal operations will be performed on a priority basis focusing on the downtown core with the main arteries to follow.
