On Monday, March 3, 2025, Town Council passed a resolution endorsing the Federal and Provincial call to buy Canadian.

As part of the approved resolution, council is also urging the Federal and Provincial governments to collaborate with municipalities in protecting Canadian consumers and businesses, and to eliminate any barriers that prevent municipalities from prioritizing Canadian companies for projects.

WHEREAS since 1998, March 5th has been recognized as World Energy Efficiency Day;

AND WHEREAS World Energy Efficiency Day aims to raise awareness of the need to reduce energy consumption through reasonable energy use;

Please be advised that the Significant Weather Event declared by the Town of Smiths Falls on February 12, 2025, related to winter maintenance operations has now ended. This declaration is made pursuant to Ontario Regulation 239/02 of the Municipal Act, 2001 (as amended).

The Town would like to thank the residents and business owners of Smiths Falls for their patience while Public Works Operations Staff performed snow clearing and removal operations on roadways and sidewalks throughout the town...

Please be advised that flags at the municipal facilities are at half mast out of respect for John Wanless, former member of the Planning Advisory Committee & Committee of Adjustment.

John had served as a committee member for 25 years, providing valuable knowledge and insight to help form and develop our beautiful community.

John will be greatly missed by fellow committee members, council & staff. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.
