The Town of Smiths Falls is currently soliciting proposals for the development of a Business Retention and Expansion (BR&E) and Investment Attraction Strategic Plan. This initiative was identified as a key priority in the current Council Strategic Plan (2023-2026).

The Town is seeking qualified economic development consulting firms with a proven track record in systematically preparing and executing economic development strategies in small urban or similar municipalities through comprehensive strategic planning processes.

The selected firm will be tasked with crafting a Strategic Plan spanning a 5-year period, which outlines clear economic development objectives, strategies, and performance metrics.

“This new plan will assist the Town and economic development partners in guiding sustainable economic growth by identifying our current needs, challenges, and by leveraging our unique strengths and assets, said Julia Crowder, Manager of Economic Development and Tourism.”

Interested firms are encouraged to apply through the Town Bids and Tenders portal and submit their proposals by July 26th, 2024, at 12:00 noon. This opportunity presents a chance to contribute to the future prosperity of Smiths Falls through strategic economic planning.
