Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Smiths Falls and the surrounding area, beginning today, June 17th. Dangerously hot and humid conditions are expected through most of the week.
Hot and humid air can bring deteriorating air quality and can result in Air Quality Health Index approaching the high-risk category. The health risks are greater for older adults, infants and young children, pregnant people, people with physical and/or mental illnesses, and people with disabilities or mobility issues.

The Leeds, Grenville & Lanark District Health Unit advise residents to take precautions to ensure you are not at risk of dehydration, heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Symptoms of exposure to extreme heat include nausea, dizziness, blurred vision, difficult breathing, severe headache or confusion, convulsion or fever.

Smiths Falls Lions Club

Monday to Saturday: 12pm-5pm, Sunday: 1pm-5pm

Smiths Falls Memorial Community Centre
71 Cornelia St. W.
Monday to Wednesday: 8am-8pm, Thursday to Sunday: 8am-4pm

Royal Canadian Legion
7 Main St. E., Monday to Friday: 10am-2pm
