The Town of Smiths Falls invites residents, businesses, and property owners to participate in the shaping of the 2025 municipal budget by providing valuable feedback on the initial draft.
The first draft of the 2025 budget, which outlines proposed service delivery costs and capital projects for the upcoming year, was presented to Council during its meetings on December 9 & 16, 2024. A second draft will be brought forward for consideration at the Committee of the Whole meeting scheduled for January 27, 2025.
Mayor Shawn Pankow emphasized, "We welcome input from our residents as we shape the 2025 budget. Your feedback is essential in helping us allocate tax dollars effectively, ensuring our services and projects reflect the community's priorities."
Residents and stakeholders interested in reviewing the draft budget presentations and providing input are encouraged to participate in an online survey available on the Town's website at smithsfalls.ca/2025budgetsurvey. Alternatively, they can obtain and submit a paper copy at the Reception Desk at Town Hall.
The survey will remain open until Monday, January 13, 2025, at 4:30 PM. The results will be summarized and included in the next budget report. For further information on this and previous budgets, please visit the Town's website at smithsfalls.ca/budget.
