Male Sustains Critical Injuries

At approximately 7:25PM on Tuesday October 15th 2024, Smiths Falls Police were called by Paramedics in regards to an unconscious male on Jasper Avenue. Preliminary investigation revealed that the male was a passenger in a moving vehicle when he went out the open window landing on the roadway.  The male has sustained critical injuries and is currently in hospital. Police are investigating the incident.

****UPDATE****

A 23-year-old male has died in hospital as a result of injuries sustained in this incident. The investigation into this matter remains ongoing however, foul play is not suspected. We have requested a retraction from the Editor of the Smiths Falls Record Journal for their insensitive and inaccurate headline relating to this incident.
