The Town has received reports of children playing /sledding & building tunnels in snowbanks located in parking lots in various locations throughout the community. We would like to remind residents to please stay off these hills. Snow removal efforts are still ongoing and tunnels where children cannot be seen, along with low visibility for vehicles traveling in or out of these parking lots, can pose a safety risk. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our residents safe! 

The Smiths Falls Fire Department would like to remind residents to take extra caution around streams and ditches during the current mild weather conditions. Due to the large accumulation of snow over the past few weeks, melting snow can create fast flowing water and can pose a safety concern.
