Smiths Falls welcomes Still Standing Comedian Jonny Harris on May 8th for a night of laughter and entertainment! This is a free event for ages 12+, which will be taking place at the Youth Arena at 7 PM.
Born and raised in Pouch Cove, Newfoundland, and currently residing in Toronto, Jonny is best known for his roles in two long-running CBC TV series: he plays constable George Crabtree on Murdoch Mysteries and is the host, producer, and writer of Still Standing, for which he has won six Canadian Screen Awards.
Each episode of Still Standing features Harris visiting a small Canadian town that has preserved through adversity. He profiles the community and performs an original set of stand-up comedy written specifically for residents, delivering a special curated toast, performed live in front of community members.
“We are honoured to host Jonny and the Still Standing Crew to what’s sure to be a fun evening for our community! Being chosen provides us with an opportunity to highlight our resiliency as a town, while allowing us to showcase all that beauty and uniqueness that Smiths Falls has to offer” noted Mayor Shawn Pankow.
This event will be filmed for a CBC television series and attendees will be required to sign a release form. Doors will be open at 6:30 pm and seats will be available on a first come first served basis.
