The Smiths Falls Heritage House to celebrate Global Beatles Day
Smiths Falls, ON – The Heritage House Museum is excited to announce the opening of a pop-up exhibit on The Beatles, to mark Global Beatles Day on June 25. The exhibit will be on display from Friday, June 23 until Sunday, June 25, from 10am – 5pm.
“Visitors will have the chance to see RCA Victor materials, Beatles memorabilia, records, and more. Swing by to put a vinyl on the record player or take a picture in our Beatles cut-out. We are excited to feature history so close to Smiths Falls and, in my opinion, one of the greatest bands of all time,” Sienna Cauley, Program Coordinator at the Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum.
Smiths Falls Industry RCA Victor began pressing records in December of 1953. In 1963, RCA Smiths Falls pressed the first Beatles album for the North American market. RCA would continue to press Beatles records, as well as many popular artists’ records including Elvis Presley, Diana Ross and the Supremes, the Jimi Hendrix Experience and Led Zeppelin. RCA Victor closed its Smiths Falls location in April of 1979.
