Town of Smiths Falls welcomes new Director of Community Services

Smiths Falls, ON – Following a robust hiring initiative, the Town of Smiths Falls is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephanie Clark as the new Director of Community Services effective March 20, 2023.

Coming to Smiths Falls from the City of Iqaluit, Ms. Clark progressed though the organization in the roles of Youth Coordinator, Recreation Services Manager, and most recently, as Director of Recreation. As Iqaluit’s Director of Recreation, she oversaw two ice rinks, a curling rink, a youth centre, a seasonal indoor turf, an aquatic and fitness facility, numerous parks, playgrounds and trails. Prior to relocating to Iqaluit, Stephanie was the Housing Director in Regina.

As Director of Community Services Ms. Clark will oversee the Memorial Community Centre, Parks, Recreation, Facilities & property maintenance, the Child Development Centres, Crossing Guard services, and Hillcrest Cemetery.

Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from York University, a Master of Arts, Social and Public Policy and is currently pursuing a Master of Business, Public Sector Management from the University of York.

“Ms. Clark brings a tremendous depth of knowledge and experience in community development delivering programs and services with appeal for all age groups.” Said Chief Administrative Officer, Malcolm Morris. “She has a solid track record of thoughtfully developing and purposefully delivering services that enhance quality of life for residents. We are thrilled she will be joining the leadership team here in Smiths Falls.”  

The new director will be located at the Community Services headquarters within the Memorial Community Centre offices.
