Town of Smiths Falls welcomes new Director of Corporate Services/Treasurer
Smiths Falls, ON – The Town of Smiths Falls is very pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Dowber as the new Director of Corporate Services/Treasurer.
As the Director of Corporate Services/Treasurer, Mr. Dowber will oversee the Town’s internal support services of Finance, Clerk Services, Human Resources, Asset Management, Information Technology, and Customer Services.
Mr. Dowber has held several senior financial positions with municipalities across the province including General Manager Financial Services/Treasurer in Napanee, and as Treasurer with the Township of Chatsworth, Hamilton Township, and Wellington North.
“I’m excited to begin working with staff and Council at the Town of Smiths Falls and to be a part of a community with such a fascinating history, a rich association with the arts and a plan for the future”, stated Mr. Dowber.
Bringing to the Town of Smiths Falls substantial direct experience in the municipal sphere, Paul has demonstrated expertise in financial accountability, human resource leadership, asset management planning, long range financial planning, and policy implementation. Mr. Dowber holds a CPA designation with the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario.

Mr. Dowber officially commences his new career on February 20, 2024 and will be based at Town Hall.
