Large items require 2 garbage tags per item and must be set out by 7:00 a.m. on your regular scheduled collection day. Please call Rona first at 613-283-4411 to confirm they can receive the unused paint. Alternatively, unused paint can be disposed of at the Household Hazardous Waste Site.

Recycling

The Town operates a two stream recycling system. Recycling collection alternates each week, with fibers being picked up one week and containers the next. Fibers (cardboard, newspaper, etc.) are to be placed at the curb in your blue box, and containers (plastic bottles, cans, etc.) are to be placed at the curb in your yellow/or black box. Recycling must be set out by 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.

Swap days

Swap Days are the second weekend of May and the second weekend of August. Swap days provide you with an opportunity to reduce waste by giving away items you no longer need or by going on a treasure hunt to find some new-to-you items.

Mark items in good condition as "FREE" and place them at the backside of the curb or sidewalk starting on Friday and leave them there until Sunday at noon. This allows community members ample time to browse. If there are no takers, please be sure to remove your items from the curb by Sunday at noon. By-law Enforcement will check for the removal of items after the Sunday deadline.

Tire disposal

Residents can contact local tire dealerships to determine if they recycle tires. Businesses that produce tires must provide collection sites across the province for the public.

Yard waste & brush collection

The Town collects brush, leaves and grass clippings (yard waste) twice a year. Collections take place the second week of May and the third week of November. All leaves and grass clippings (yard waste) must be placed in brown compostable paper bags and be free from any garbage. Brush must be neatly bundled with no branches larger than 4 inches (10 cm) in diameter.

Bagged leaves must be placed at the backside of the curb or sidewalk by 7:00 a.m. on November 15, 2024. Glenview Iron and Metal will pick up bagged leaves that day only. Only brown compostable paper bags will be accepted; plastic bags will not be collected.

The Town also operates a Compost Site that you may take yard waste to during open hours.
